NPL Youth: Newcastle Olympic travel to Coffs Harbour

Seth & George (2)

Round 10 of the NPL Youth competition calls upon the four NPL Youth teams of Newcastle Olympic to make the long trip up the coast to Coffs Harbour this weekend.

In U13s the North Coast team have only won 1 game from 7 outings and should not pose a threat on paper. U14s is similar with a huge difference in strength between the two teams and again Newcastle Olympic are favourites to collect the 3 points. In U15s the North Coast team has only lost 2 games and last week came away with a draw in Newcastle against Broadmeadow Magic! Although our team has been on maximum points since the 2019 season, they need to work hard to secure a result. In u16s we will be in for a competitive match as North Coast sit in 5th spot, 2 points behind Newcastle Olympic.

Safe travels to everyone and good luck to all our teams.

NPL Youth: Newcastle Olympic record 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss against Broadmeadow Magic

Olympic Magic (2)

Newcastle Olympic dominated the u14s and u15s in Round 8 of the Northern NSW Youth NPL competition against Broadmeadow Magic on Sunday. All four matches lived up to the “derby” billing with excitement, intensity, skill, and controversy.

In the u13s our team were unable to cause the upset and put an end to Broadmeadow Magic’s 100% winning record so far. U14s dominated the first half and lead 3-0 before being pegged back to 3-2! A late flurry ensured they ran out 5-2 winners. U15s continued their 100% winning record with a 4-0 win over a spirited Magic team while u16s fought out a 0-0 draw.

Next Saturday we are at home again against Lake Macquarie City.

NPL Youth: Newcastle Olympic take on Broadmeadow Magic at Darling St Oval

01

Derby day at Darling St Oval during the 8th Round of the Northern NSW Youth NPL competition! Traditionally, matches between these two opponents have always been a derby, regardless of where both opponents sit on the points table. On Sunday spectators will have the opportunity to watch the only two remaining teams on maximum points after 7 rounds of football, the u13s Broadmeadow team and the u15s Newcastle Olympic team!

The u13s Broadmeadow team has won every game played and scored 45 goals in 7 matches, an average of 6 goals per game! Can the Newcastle Olympic team put a stop to this on Sunday? They have nothing to lose but a huge scalp to claim.

In the u14s, only two points separate league leaders Newcastle Olympic with 3rd placed Broadmeadow Magic! This promises to be a great match up between two very strong teams fighting for the premiership.

In the u15s, Newcastle Olympic are not only one of the two remaining teams on maximum points but the ONLY team to have also gone through the entire 2020 season on maximum points as well! They are 11 points ahead of Broadmeadow but on derby day this means very little. Will they continue with the 100% record or will Broadmeadow cause an upset?

In the u16s 1 point separates the first 4 teams and this indicates another very close game between two very strong and aspiring teams. The only difference between them is that Olympic have scored twice the number of goals than the Magic team.
