NPL Youth: Newcastle Olympic are away to Broadmeadow Magic

01 (2)

As we turn the final corner of another season, Round 19 of the 2021 NPL competition presents Newcastle Olympic with the opportunity of collecting it’s first Premiership trophy!

In U13s Newcastle Olympic faces a tough assignment as the Broadmeadow team is on maximum points and on Tuesday night secured the U13s NNSW NPL Premiership. We are 2 points off the top four and the boys need to work very hard to keep their hopes for a top 4 finish.

In U14s Newcastle Olympic are 7 points clear at the top while the Broadmeadow team is fighting for a place in the top 4. It will be a tough game and one we need to win in order to get closer to winning the Premiership.

In U15s Newcastle Olympic need 3 points to collect the Premiership for the 2nd year in a row! A win against the Broadmeadow team however will diminish their possibility of a top 4 place! This match has so much at stake for both teams and has the makings of “the battle of all battles”!

In U16s Newcastle Olympic are in 3rd spot, 4 points adrift from 2nd which is occupied by the Broadmeadow Magic team. Another epic battle by two evenly matched opponents!

NPL Youth: Newcastle Olympic youth take on Adamstown Rosebud in final game at Darling St Oval

02

Newcastle Olympic youth teams take on Adamstown Rosebud this Saturday in their final game of the 2021 NPL season at Darling St Oval! Our supporters will have an opportunity to watch the last game on home soil for all four teams! All four are top 4 contenders and will be fighting for a place in the semi-finals while two are favorite to win the Premiership.

Newcastle Olympic u13s are just 2 points off 4th spot on the ladder and should collect the 3 points against an Adamstown team which has yet to register a single point this season! U14s continue in 1st spot, 2 points ahead and with a game in hand and should also collect the 3 points against an Adamstown team 10th on the ladder.

Newcastle Olympic U15s continue their record breaking run (1 loss in two seasons), with a 10 point lead in 1st spot against an Adamstown side who would love to cause an upset. If Olympic win this game, they only require 3 points in the remaining 4 matches to collect the title, yet again!

Newcastle Olympic U16s have secured a top 4 spot but will want to play well against a 6th placed Adamstown team if they want to secure 2nd place.

This is the last opportunity for our supporters to see all four of our youth teams in action at Darling St Oval this season as well as enjoy the wonderful food from our canteen!

NPL Youth action resumes this weekend after the “wash-out” catch up round of last week. Newcastle Olympic are away to Charlestown Azzuri with some interesting games indeed!

Olympic U13s have captured 4th spot on the ladder and need the three points from 3rd placed Azzuri to frog leap them into 3rd as well as distance themselves from Edgeworth and Maitland who are fighting for a place in the top four.

Olympic U14s should not have a problem overcoming their Azzuri counter parts on paper. They need the 3 points as 2nd placed Edgeworth play two games on the weekend and mathematically can capture 1st spot on the points table if they win both.

Olympic U15s are recovering from their first loss of competition points last week since August 2019! Given that Charlestown also come from an away loss, we have the ingredients of a great battle for the 3 points.

Olympic U16s should prove too strong for their Azzuri counter parts and need the 3 points to improve their 4th position on the points table. A mere 4 points separates them from 2nd spot.

Amid the new Covid-19 restrictions one match will not take place! U14s from Valentine do not have enough players to field a team and this game will be deferred to a later date. U13s who are in 4th spot on the ladder need a win against 7th placed Valentine to cement their position in the top 4 as we near the semi-finals. U15s who are in 1st spot on the table on maximum points take on a 5th placed Valentine team eager to be the first side to take points off last year’s Premiers.
