NPL Youth: Newcastle Olympic take on Edgeworth at Islington Park

03

In Round 14 of the NPL Youth competition Newcastle Olympic take on Edgeworth Eagles at Islington Park. The matches in all four age groups are derbies and should be very competitive encounters.

In u13s, 3 points separate 5 teams from 2nd to 6th on the points table. After their great win away last Monday over Jaffas, the Newcastle Olympic team will be wanting to double up on the three points and move within the top four.

In u14s, Newcastle Olympic occupy 1st place and their only loss of points this season was a narrow defeat to Edgeworth. This match will be between the best two teams of the competition.

In u15s, Newcastle Olympic are also in 1st place and on maximum points. A win against 2nd placed Edgeworth will bring them a step closer to the premiership.

In u16s, Newcastle Olympic are in 3rd place and with a win against 1st placed Edgeworth, they will be within three points off the lead.

Four mouth watering games which will be held at Islington Park. Due to the limited seating, spectators are encouraged to bring a chair.

2019HamiltonOlympicFClogo(CYMK)

The National Youth Championships are Football Australia’s primary national football tournament for under-14s and 15s boys and under-14s and 16s girls. The competition will see teams from each of Football Australia’s State Federations compete over five days.

The Football Australia National Youth Championships for Boys will be held from September 20 to 24, while the Football Australia National Youth Championships for Girls will be held from October 18 to 22.

Northern NSW Football has hosted the championships since 2006 working closely with Coffs Harbour City Council, their sports unit and the community.

While the boys championships will remain at Coffs Harbour this year, the girls championships will be played at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

The 2015-19 NNSWF bid was supported by long-time partner, Coffs Harbour City Council and sports unit, along with Destination NSW, with both recognising the significance of the tournament as a catalyst for tourism and economic benefit in the Coffs Harbour region and wider NSW and the partnership facilitating a strong bid.
