U16s Newcastle Jets travel away to Prospect United SC on Sunday and will attempt to continue their dream run of 10 wins from 10 games! Prospect defeated Bonnyrigg 3-1 on Tuesday night in a washed out fixture which brings them to 13th spot on the ladder and two games in hand to Jet’s 1st place and on maximum points! This was Prospect’s 2nd win of the season and their biggest problem this season appears to be their inability to score goals. They have scored just 8 goals in 8 games! On paper, the Newcastle Jets are favourites to collect the 3 points but to do so, they need a professional performance similar to the one displayed against Mounties Wanderers a week ago.
U18s Newcastle Jets will have a tougher task than their U16s counterparts. Although they too are in 1st place on the table, Prospect are in 4th spot, just 4 points behind! The U18s Jets were all smiles last week, coming away from a 3-1 victory over Mounties Wanderers while Prospect lost at home 5-4 on Tuesday night against Bonnyrigg! Both teams have everything to play for and this will be an evenly contested game.
U15s Newcastle Jets are all smiles after last week’s win and reclaim of 1st place on the ladder! Prospect were also happy securing a 1-0 away win at Rydalmere but it was only their 2nd of the season and with two games in hand, are in 12th place on the ladder. The U15s Newcastle Jets should collect all 3 points in this game but they will have to work for it.
U14s Newcastle Jets recorded their biggest win of the season last week and it helped restore some confidence and 7th spot on the table, 7 points behind league leaders. This game gives U14s Jets an opportunity to collect a further 3 points from a Prospect team which has only managed two draws all season!
U13s Newcastle Jets continue to bask in the sun of 1st place on the ladder and after a hard fought win last week at home against Mounties Wanderers they need to put in another big effort against Prospect if they are to come away with the 3 points. Prospect are 10th with two games in hand and with 1 loss and 4 consecutive draws over their past 5 games!
In the all important Club Championship which determines promotion to FNSW Boy’s Youth League1 next season, the Newcastle Jets continue to occupy 1st place on 90 points, closely followed by St George City FA on 74 points and Hills United on 71 points.
