Round 7 of the NPL Youth competition of Northern NSW has Newcastle Olympic away to Adamstown Rosebuds. In football there is a cliché “Never under-estimate your opponent”! This will be echoed by Olympic coaching staff of all four age groups this weekend.
In U13s our opponent is at the bottom of the table with no points and a goal deficit of -43 goals in 6 matches! On paper U13s Olympic are favorites to collect the 3 points but they will have to work hard for it.
In U14s Newcastle Olympic head the points table on 15 points with Adamstown Rosebuds occupying 7th spot on 7 points. Again the Olympic team are favorites on paper but again we’ll have to say “Never under-estimate your opponent”.
In U15s, Newcastle Olympic have maximum points from 6 matches to Adamstown’s zero points from as many matches. Sporting from their comfortable victory against equal league leaders Charlestown Azzuri last weekend, the U15s cannot afford to take this game lightly.
In U16s, Newcastle Olympic are in 2nd spot while Adamstown in 7th. Again the team in blue are favorite but again they need to work for the result.
