Hamilton Olympic Youth NPL take on Balmain Tigers

Monday night certainly had a feast of Football at Darling Street Oval. We appreciate Valentine FC for traveling to play our teams.

Results in these trials were:

Under 13 Youth- Olympic 0 lost to Valentine 3

Under 14 Youth- Olympic 8 defeated Valentine 1

Under 15 Youth- Olympic 3 defeated Valentine 2

Under 16 Youth-Olympic 4 defeated Valentine 1

Both our Under 9 SAP teams also played Valentine, and certainly impressed with their cohesion and attacking play. Coaches Bartrop, Craig, Buxton and Cox have both teams working well as a unit.  

This Sunday, 18 February, at Darling Street Oval, our Youth NPL teams are hosting the Youth teams from Balmain Tigers FC, who play in the NPL 2 Division in the FNSW competition.

The Under 13 match kicks off at 10.30am, with a full day of football at Darling Street Oval. Of course the canteen will be up and running all day, with the usual high quality food available, courtesy of our hard working staff.

Hamilton Olympic gains $43,764 to improve Darling St Oval

Tim Crakanthorp with the $43,765 grant from the 2017 Community Building Partnership

It was a privilege to hand over $43,765 from the 2017 Community Building Partnership grants to Hamilton Olympic FC.

This money will be used to fix drainage problems and improve the playing surface. This is a great outcome for our community and I can’t wait to catch up with the club once the work is completed.

Hamilton Olympic take on Valentine FC in a pre-season trial game

Hamilton Olympic FC continue their series of trials this weekend, with our Seniors taking on Valentine FC at the following venue, whilst there is a first match for one of our Junior teams.

· Saturday, 3rd February at Baxter Field, Marks Point

1.00pm HOFC U 18s v Valentine 18s

2.30pm HOFC U 20s  v Valentine 20s

4.15pm HOFC 1st Grade v Valentine 1st Grade

Saturday also sees our two under 9 SAP teams ( SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAMME) having their first hit out of the new season. The boys have had a couple of training runs already, and will be featuring against Edgeworth Under 9 SAP team.

Their matches will be held concurrently, with the details below-

· Saturday 3rd February 2:00PM HOFC 9s SAP v Edgeworth 9s SAP at Jack McLaughlin Oval, Edgeworth.

The Summer Hamilton Olympic 2018 Coaching Clinic

The Summer Hamilton Olympic 2018 Coaching Clinic concluded on Thursday, after 4 days of enjoyable activities, skill development, and a great opportunity for  boys and girls from throughout the Hunter Region to make new friends.

Over 70 football players aged between 6 years to 14 years from
many different clubs, including Olympic, Merewether, Cooks Hill, New
Lambton, Mayfield, Valentine, Toronto and South Wallsend attended the
Clinic. The club sincerely thank all boys and girls for attending and making
the Clinic such a wonderful success.

We also pass on our thanks to the clinic co-ordinator Reece, and the following coaches for being so patient and enthusiastic- Greg, Paul, Stan, Louis, Luke, Joel, Tom, Dimitri and Daniel.

Hamilton Olympic: David Tripodi & Access Hire, Newcastle a Major Sponsor for 2018

The club would like to welcome on board David Tripodi and all the crew from Access Hire, Newcastle as a Major Sponsor for 2018.

Access Hire supplied an Articulation Boom yesterday for the changing of
globes at the flood lights at Darling Street Oval, which enabled the task to
be completed easily.

canteen facilities available.

Darling Street Oval

The club pass on their best wishes for the festive season and a happy, rewarding 2018 to all involved with Hamilton Olympic FC.

The club also received some wonderful news just before Christmas, when our local State member for Newcastle, Mr Tim Crakanthorp MP contacted the club to inform us that we were successful in our application to receive funding under the NSW Governments 2017 Community Building Partnership program. We have approved funding of $43 765 for the project at Darling Street Oval of “ Renewal and Extension of Drainage Playing Fields “
