U16s Newcastle Jets proved too strong for Bonnyrigg White Eagles on Sunday defeating the home side comfortably by 3-0.
On a warm afternoon at Bonnyrigg Sports Club, the Newcastle Jets limited the local team to one goal scoring opportunity throughout the entire match!
Despite the domination, Newcastle lacked composure in the first half and played rushed football.
The free-flowing passing game was obvious from the start of the second half and for a period of 15 to 20 minutes the local team had difficulty getting possession of the ball.
During this period, the Jets scored their first goal with a penalty and a further two from open play. The second and third goals came from quick counter attacks in which speed and combination passing proved too difficult to defend for the local Eagles.
This result is the fifth victory for the U16s Newcastle Jets in as many matches and not only does it cement them in first place on the ladder, but they have yet to even concede a goal!
This might be put to the test next Sunday at Speers Point when they meet Nepean FC who have won four matches from the four played to date!
