On a windy and cold Saturday morning at the grass field of LMRFF, a new look U16s Jets squad began their pre-season trial programme pitched against the Newcastle Jets WPL A-League team.
The u16s squad included four new recruits from NNSW NPL as well as players from the U15s squad. The WPL A-League fielded top scorer of the NNSW WPL for 2021, Jemma House, as well as Matilda Emily Van Egmond!
The match was a competitive affair with players from both teams able to put minutes on the clock for their pre-season programme while coaches of both teams had the opportunity to gauge their players under match conditions.
U16s led 2-1 at the break but ran out eventual winners by 3-1 after scoring an own goal and missing a penalty.
U16’s next opponent is Sydney FC on the 5th December in Sydney.
