NPL: Newcastle Olympic lose 2-1 in trial match against Charlestown Azzuri

Newcastle Olympic took on Charlestown Azzuri in a trial match on Saturday at Lisle Carr Oval. Despite leading 1-0 at half time through a goal scored by Jake McGinness, Olympic lost 2-1.

Reserve grade beat Charlestown 6-2 and our u18s were too strong, recording an 8-0 victory over Azzuri.

WPL:
Newcastle Olympic WPL teams had a trial game against Merewether at Wallsend HS over the weekend and recorded two wins and two loses.

First Grade were defeated 3-1 while Reserve Grade won 6-1. Our U17s edged out 3-2 winners while our U14s were narrowly defeated by 2-1.

YOUTH NPL:
Newcastle Olympic played their washed out Round 1 match of the season against Mid Coast at Darling St Oval on Sunday and recorded comfortable victories.

U16s won 7-0, U15s 6-0, U14s 7-0 and U13s 6-1.

ZONE LEAGUE:
Newcastle Olympic Zone League teams played Stockton at Corroba Oval on Saturday and won both games.

First Grade won 3-1 and Second Grade won 6-2.

Over 35s:
Newcastle Olympic Over35s opened proceedings against Stockton on Friday night and won 4-2.

SAP/NET:
Newcastle Olympic SAP and NET teams visited LMFF, Lake Macquarie Field and the Croudace Bay Complex over the weekend playing against Broadmeadow Magic, Edgeworth and Valentine and all beginning the season with great performances.

Community Juniors:
Newcastle Olympic Community juniors all travelled away to Stockton, Broadmeadow Magic, Shortland and Medowie and all had fun playing and enjoying their football journey.
