It is the final round of one of the closest NPL seasons on record. Three of the top 4 places are decided with Broadmeadow or Weston to make up the fourth spot.
On Saturday Lambton host South Cardiff. Lambton can go top of the table with a win whilst South Cardiff need to produce the game of their lives to stay up. Winning the game is the Gunners first priority but by a large margin is also needed to stay up. Lambton won 5 nil earlier this season when they last played each other.
Adamstown host Jets Youth in a game where neither side can go up or down. The Rosebuds are 8 points clear of the Jets who are 4 points ahead of Charlestown. Normally when there is no pressure on teams to perform it produces a good open game so maybe a few goals will be scored. The last time they met Adamstown won 2-1.
Three games on Sunday sees Broadmeadow at home to Charlestown City. The Magic just needs to win to secure a top 4 birth, whilst Charlestown City can start planning their end of season trip. The last time these two sides met there was a few heated exchanges in a 1 nil win to the Blues.
Edgeworth can wrap up the minor premiership with a win at home when they host Weston who need a big win to play finals football. The Bears got the points last time these two met but that was in their backyard. The Eagles have been solid all season at home and should secure the minor premiership with a win on Sunday.
The final game of Round 18 sees another contender for the minor premiership in Hamilton Olympic at home to Maitland. All Olympic can do is win and hope Lambton and Edgeworth draw or lose. Maitland just need a point to be safe but they will already know their fate by Saturday afternoon with the Jaffas, Gunners game on Saturday. Olympic won 2-1 the last time when these two clubs met in Round 9.
