Still licking their wounds from dropping their first points of the season in Round 12 of the competition against South Coast Flame, the U16s Newcastle Jets are away to lowly placed St George FC in Sydney on Saturday!
On paper the Newcastle team look too strong for a Sydney side that has managed to win just 3 games from 11 outings and has conceded 11 goals in their past 2 matches! A full strength Newcastle Jets team will be too strong for the Sydney siders to stop but a lot will depend on the availability of players.
U18s Newcastle Jets are in a similar situation but their opponent is far stronger! The Jets have dropped to 2nd place on the ladder after last week’s defeat and St George are only 3 points behind in 5th spot. The Jets need to be at full strength and play very well on the day if they wish to return with the 3 points from Sydney!
U15s Newcastle Jets have their job cut out for them as St George is only in 6th spot, 9 points behind the 2nd placed Newcastle team. The U15s have the capacity to bounce back from last week’s defeat and will be hoping for a win and the possibility of narrowing the gap with 1st placed St George FA who take on 3rd placed Hills United!
U14s Newcastle Jets will be hoping to make it three wins in a row against a St George side that have only won 3 matches all season. The Newcastle side are 8 points adrift in 6th spot while St George in 8th position, 5 points behind the Novocastrians. This is a great opportunity for the u14s to bag another 3 points and show they are turning their season around.
U13s Newcastle Jets are still beating their chests after inflicting the first loss to undefeated South Coast Flame last Sunday! They are in 1st place on the ladder but another difficult test awaits them as they are up against a St George team who are in 3rd place and who have scored 51 goals in 11 matches! A win here is essential to maintain their position on the ladder and to further distance themselves from the 3rd placed team.
