A 16 year old Hunter Sports High school student completed a dream when he finished a two week training program with the U19s Panathinaikos Football Academy in Athens, Greece. George Tsamouras, an ex-Newcastle Olympic and Jets Academy player participated in two weeks of training at the Panathinaikos Sports Centre, including participation in three pre-season friendlies wearing the famous green and white of Panathinaikos.
During his stay, he was able to train with the U19s squad which included a number of U19 Greek internationals. He was supervised by team coach Andreas Drenova and Academy Director, Evangelos Samios. George was able to see how the cream of Greek youth train in a professional environment.

Not only was the young Australian impressed with the Panathinaikos Academy during the day but in the evening, he also had the opportunity to witness the senior side take on the best of Europe in the Champion’s League in front of 80,000 spectators at the Olympic Stadium of Athens!
A big thank you to the staff and players of Panathinaikos for the opportunity and their hospitality.
