U16s Newcastle Jets welcome South Coast Flame to LMRFF on Sunday afternoon in a clash for Round 12 of the competition. Despite not playing against Prospect United SC last week due to the wet weather, the Newcastle Jets remain in 1st place on the ladder. South Coast Flame are in 11th position with five consecutive losses by the odd goal. Will the Jets inflict their 6th consecutive loss or will South Coast cause the upset and be the first team to take points away from the Newcastle team?
U18s Newcastle Jets also continue to lead the competition with one game in hand. South Coast Flame sit in 13th place with three games in hand, having won a mere 2 matches so far! This should be an interesting contest. Will the lack of football last weekend upset the rhythm of the Newcastle team or will it act as an opportunity to refresh the players and make them stronger than before?
U15s Newcastle Jets have slipped to 2nd place on the ladder due to the washed-out game on the weekend but they are ahead of South Coast who sit in 11th position on the ladder. The U15s South Coast team has shown “hot or cold” form this season. They tend to play well against the stronger teams but lose against teams below them on the points table. Let’s hope this trend isn’t repeated at Speers Point on Sunday.
U14s Newcastle Jets have dropped to 7th place on the ladder with one game in hand while South Coast occupy 13th spot. On paper this looks like an evenly matched contest but the 6-0 mauling of the Mounties Wonderers by the Newcastle Jets hopefully will inspire them to another victory on home soil.
Finally, U13s Newcastle Jets remain in 1st place of the ladder while South Coast sit in 6th position with three games in hand. The interesting statistic about the team from Wollongong is that they have not lost a single match from the eight played so far. Will the Newcastle Jets inflict their first defeat of the season?
In the Club Championship the Newcastle Jets continue to be comfortably in first place with St George City FA and Hills United the closest threats.
